The Deep Sea Paintings
“I’m just obsessed with this idea of taking a leap into a new world without knowing exactly what I’m searching for – kind of like an unexpected journey. Maybe it’s an inward journey. I make a lot of connections with my countless deep dive experiences around the world. The sea can look almost completely black, but the instance you dive in a whole new world that opens up. I think this is what I’m trying to convey, in a visual way, with my Deep Sea paintings.“– Mikael B.

“A Thunderstorm; one of those things that can make me feel like a kid again. I was always, and still am, eager to experience thunderstorms right from the front lines. The suspense of the still, right before it hits, and the release of the sudden loud peals of thunder. The dark, the light, the shear force of nature and the vivid strikes of light – that’s what I’m trying to capture in my latest works.“– Mikael B.
