Eternal Landscapes creates a space where thoughts and dreams can grow.
There is no confirmation bias, but a world that is open with a wild nature that explodes in color-saturated imagination creating an infinite space. A space that opens up new directions for untouched grounds. Mikael B has taken the step into the untouched nature of i.a. Colorado and Utah, and this journey lay the foundation for the first four works in the Eternal Landscapes series. A continuous composition of each artwork leads us away from the wilderness and into an idealistic dream. A development that revolutionized our civilized urban lifestyle and geometric constructions dissolve the urban space, and the highly architectural and sharp gray facades fragmenting into an explosion. Struggle, detachment and realization are feelings Mikael experienced as he executed these highly cathartic artworks.
Struggle against social structures, detachment from traditional norms and an acknowledgment of us are responsible for our own happiness. Untouched wilderness is the underlying theme throughout the works that dance around an endless landscape waiting to be conquered in the background.
The work At First Light depicts the contrast between the gray city and the endless blue sky, while Edge of Time makes us take the plunge in search for new heights. Lost Land is the first step towards letting go of daily life and searching for nature’s impressive forces and unspoiled places. Even though nature is violent and powerful, it provides tranquility and silence. This state is conveyed in Untouched Land, where we feel drawn to the black silhouettes of the mountains and the blood-red sky.
